Women’s London 2012 basketball groups confirmed

July 5 - With the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women (OQTW) now completed, the groups and schedule of the London 2012 Olympic basketball women's tournament have been finalised. Having just secured qualification at the recent OQTW, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France (pictured above) and Turkey joined the Olympic line-up of already qualified teams, allowing the London 2012 two groups to be drawn.
Group A comprises: Angola; Croatia; China; Czech Republic; Turkey; and the United States.
While Australia, Brazil, Britain, Canada, France and Russia make up Group B.
The three remaining places at the men's Olympic basketball tournament are yet to be decided pending on the outcomes at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Men (OQT) in Caracas, Venezuela, due to finish on Sunday (July 8).
London 2012 basketball tournaments for men and women take place from July 28 until August 12 at the Olympic Basketball Arena and the North Greenwich Arena.
