The two nations appear in pool A alongside Spain, who secured bronze at last year's Under-18 World Championship in Jakarta and have claimed a medal in each edition of the tournament since its introduction in 2011, and top seeds Hungary.

Germany, Brazil, The Netherlands, Venezuela, Syria and Slovenia complete the group's line up.

The women's B pool features back-to-back under-18 world champions the United States, who have already announced the participation of two of last year's winners - Arike Ogunbowale and Katie-Lou Samuelson, as well as Belgium, the Czech Republic, Andorra, Chinese Taipei, Romania, Indonesia, Egypt, Thailand and Guam.

In the men's event, the Chinese hosts will be paired with France, who collected silver at last year's Under-18 World Championship, and Lithuania in Pool A, alongside Hungary, Germany, Uruguay, Poland, Puerto Rico, Indonesia and Slovenia.

Men's under-18 world champions Argentina will spearhead Pool B, with world bronze medallists Russia, old rivals Brazil and New Zealand, who won the first-ever International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Under 18 World Championships in 2011 in the Italian city of Rimini.

Andorra, Spain, Romania, Guatemala, Venezuela and Tunisia complete the teams in the pool.

The pool matches will take place in Nanjing between August 18 and 24, before the knockout phase gets underway with the best 16 teams.

The finals are scheduled for August 26.
