June 18 - The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) have officially inaugurated their new House of Basketball headquarters on the outskirts of Geneva in Mies, with distinguished guests such as International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge and the Swiss President Ueli Maurer in attendance.

May 27 - The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) have announced the 12 icons of the sport that will be inducted into their Hall of Fame, including legendary Australian player and Sydney 2000 flagbearer Andrew Gaze (pictured), and the late former Canada coach John "Jack" Donohue.
