The Ad-hoc Committee of ASA has announced a special general meeting will be held on May 24 for the elections.

Nominations for President, vice-president, chairmen of the Cross-Country Commission, the Road Running Commission, the Track and Field Commission and the Athletes' Commission, as well as four additional members, must be received by April 24.

No member of the Ad-hoc Committee can stand for any of the positions.

The announcement comes after an agreement was reached with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) the sport's world governing body.

ASA was suspended by the country's own National Olympic Committee in June, after its members ignored sanctions placed on its ruling Board.

The row started when the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee suspended the ASA Board following an internal power struggle between its President James Evans and vice-president Hendrick Ramaala.

In December, the Board was dissolved and members sacked by unanimous decision at an ASA annual general meeting in Johannesburg.

A seven-member interim Board was appointed to run the sport for the following six months.
