She also revealed that she plans to compete, for the first time, in the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Indoor Championships when they take place in Sopot, Poland, on March 7 until 9.

The 27-year-old sprinter added that her training partners Nesta Carter, a double world and Olympic sprint relay champion, and 400m hurdler Kaliese Spencer were also hoping to run at the Commonwelath Games.

But the IAAF Women's World Athlete of the Year was not able to confirm whether her male counterpart, Usain Bolt, would also compete at the Commonwealth Games.

"I have no idea if Usain  will compete in Glasgow or not," she said.

"He is in a different training group so I am not privy to his plans."

Fraser-Pryce, due to run the 60m in tomorrow's British Athletics Grand Prix at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena, where she made her indoor debut last year, said she had still to decide which event she would compete in at the Glasgow Commonwealths, which take place from July 23 to August 3.

"I am not sure whether it will be in the 100 or the 200m, but I will definitely be running in Glasgow.

"Running at the Commonwealths will be a bit different for me. A lot of the countries that will be there have athletes who are doing very well, especially in female sprinting."

Fraser-Pryce, who won gold at 100, 200 and the 4x100m relay at last year's World Championships in Moscow, said she had decided on her main goals for 2014 after sitting down with her coach, Stephen Francis, in October.

"I had a wonderful season in 2013, winning three golds in Moscow, winning the IAAF Diamond League and getting the World Athlete of the Year award," she said.

"Now I have new targets for 2014, and I want to do exceptionally well at both.

"It's a different motivation, a different focus for me.

"I have never been to Scotland but now I will be competing there in the Commonwealth Games and I am ecstatic about that."

If Fraser-Pryce chooses to run the 100m in Glasgow, she could end up facing Australia's Olympic 110m hurdles champion Sally Pearson, who crossed the line first in the 100m final at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games but was disqualified for a false start.

Pearson, who won the 100m hurdles gold in Delhi, plans to compete again over 100m in Glasgow.

Fraser-Pryce finished second on her indoor 60m debut in Birmingham last year, in 7.04sec, behind the Ivory Coast's Murielle Ahoure, who ran 6.99, the seventh fastest time in history.

The pair are due to face each other again tomorrow.

"I don't know what kind of shape I am in," said the Jamaican, whose competitive schedule so far this year has comprised a sprint relay and a specially arranged 60m in Kingston last month where she clocked 7.11sec.
