The trio of Reo Wilde, Braden Gellenthien and Jesse Broadwater led the way for the US in the men's senior compound category, as they claimed victory in a tight gold medal match against Denmark, emerging with a 234-232 win.

The junior team of Charlie Weinstein, Bridger Deaton and Dillon McGeorge followed the lead of their senior counterparts in the same class, but they got the job done in more emphatic fashion as they saw off Italy 233-221.

The women's senior and junior compound teams also put in impressive performances in the French city, but could only come away with silver medals.

Senior trio Erika Jones, Christie Colin and Crystal Gauvin went down by a point to Mexico, while Turkey secured the junior title following an equally tight contest with Emily Bee, Lexi Keller and Brogan Williams.

But there was some consolation for the junior trio as they set a world record score of 240 in one of their earlier matches, while Bee also secured an individual silver after losing out to Mariya Shkolna of Ukraine, while Keller took bronze.

Jones also consoled herself on missing out on team gold as she broke a 13-year-old world record held by team-mate Colin in the individual event, registering 595 out of 600 for her 60 arrow qualification round.

If Colin harboured any disappointment at losing her world record, though, she did not show it, as she went on to reach the final of the individual compound event - but could not overcome Beijing 2008 bronze medallist Sophie Dodemont of France.

In the men's compound final, it was another silver medal for the US as this time Italian Sergio Pagni prevailed in a tight contest over Wilde, while team-mate Broadwater secured bronze against rising Danish star Stephan Hansen.

In the recurve competition it was a double success for Ukraine's senior men's and women's teams.

Heorhiy Ivanytskyy, Markiyan Ivashko and Viktor Ruban looked in impressive form as they saw off the challenge of Japan in the gold medal match, while Veronika Marchenko, Anastasia Pavlova and Lidiia Sichenikova proved too strong for Germany.

Ruban and Pavlova claimed individual medals also, with Ruban taking silver following a loss to the impressive Australian Ryan Tyack who did not lose a set on his way to the final, while Pavlova secured a bronze in the women's competition.

The gold medal in the women's individual recurve went to London 2012 silver medallist Aida Roman of Mexico, who showed her class against Japan's Miki Nakamura.

In the junior competitions, Ukraine was also in and around the medals but had to make do with silver in both the men's and women's events, losing out to France and Italy respectively.

Individual honours went to German Maximilian Weckmueller, who overcame compatriot Carlo Schmitz in the gold medal match, while Tatiana Andreoli of Italy defeated Russian Ariuna Zhargalova in the women's decider.
