England's women maintained their 100 per cent record in the competition in style as they saw off Scotland 24-2 in a one-sided affair.

Angie Winstanley-Smith got the scoreboard ticking over after only 14 seconds as England went on to secure a 5-1 lead after the first quarter.

Winstanley-Smith and Ciara Gibson-Byrne completed their hatricks to give the visitors a 9-1 halftime lead, before Rosie Huck also went on to grab three goals as Scotland had no answer to the scoring power of the English.

Two consolation strikes from Nicola Tate was all the Scottish had to show for their efforts on the night.

England will now face Canada in Saturday's decider after they had earlier despatched South Africa 12-3.

Emma Wright and Kyra Christmas impressed for the Canadians while Kelly Jensen was in fine form in the North Americans' goal.

Both sides meet tomorrow in a dead-rubber before they clash in the big one on Saturday.

It was a similar story for the packed-house in the Aberdeen Aquatics Centre during the men's clash between Scotland and England as they had to watch another defeat for their side.

England raced into a 4-0 first quarter lead, but the hosts regrouped in the second as a James Scobie strike cancelled out Sean King's effort to leave the score at 5-1 midway through.

Despite another Scobie goal and a strike from Fraser Rutherford, the third quarter was the turning point as the visitors rattled seven past the hosts with Joseph O'Regan completing his hatrick.

It was one-way traffic in the final period also, as England added another five goals to their tally to secure a 17-4 win.

Malta recorded their fourth win of the week and sit atop the men's table after another impressive showing, this time against Wales.

Once again, they were led by goal machine Matthew Zammitt who strengthened his position as the tournament's top scorer by bagging another eight goals against the Welsh.

Despite the efforts of Dan Luxton and Chris Taylor, who carried the fight to the Maltese, Wales had no answer to the attacking prowess of their opponents who eventually ran out 25-12 winners.

The other men's match on the day was an altogether tighter affair and in a low-scoring contest South Africa defeated Singapore 9-4.

Nardus Bardenhorst and Paul Tan strikes cancelled each other out in the first quarter before the South Africans made a decisive move in the second as goals from Jared Wingate-Pearce and Lood Rabie helped them to a 5-2 halftime lead.

South Africa built on that lead in the third as Wingate-Pearce completed his hatrick and despite Loh Zhi Zhi bagging his own three-goal haul for Singapore, they lost out 9-4 in the end.
