March 20 - Minxia Wu and Tingmao Shi claimed a second successive Diving World Series win of the year in Dubai ©PromoSeven Sports MarketingChinese divers once again demonstrated their superiority in Dubai as they claimed three of the four titles on offer on day one of the second leg of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Diving World Series at the Hamdan Sports Complex.

World Championship winning pair Ruolin Chen and Huixia Liu made it two from two in the women's 10 metre synchro platform competition, finishing a massive 20 points clear of Malaysians Mun-Yee Leong and Pandelela Rinong Pamg with 337.56 points, to add to their win in Beijing last weekend.

The Malaysian duo swapped podium places with Canada's Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion, who followed silver in Beijing with bronze in Dubai.

Four-time Olympic and five-time world champion Chen equalled the World Series record for most podium finishes in any women's discipline, joining compatriot He Zi on 22.

It was also more of the same in the men's 10m synchro platform as Beijing 2008 Olympic champion Lin Yue and London 2012 champion Cao Yuan combined to record their second win in a week.

Reigning world champions Patrick Hausding and Sascha Klein of Germany and British duo Daniel Goodfellow and Mattew Lee had to settle for silver and bronze respectively, just as they had done in Beijing.

Hausding said afterwards that their "execution of the dives was not perfect", while the victorious Chinese duo said: "It was a challenging final for us, but in the end we managed to get the gold.

"We start now preparing for the upcoming competitions."

But Hausding would be in a much better mood after the evening session as he and Stephan Feck finally managed to break the Chinese stranglehold on gold medals by taking the 3m springboard crown.

Just as in Beijing, Cao and Lin could not add to their 10m crown and had to settle for silver, but this time it was behind the German pair rather than Russian Olympic silver medallists Evgeniy Kuznetsov and Ilya Zakharov last time out.

Ukrainians Oleksandr Gorshkovozav and Illya Kvasha claimed the final podium place.

"It is a great sensation to get the title against a solid team like Cao and Lin," said a decidedly more happier Hausding.

World champions Minxia Wu and Tingmao Shi restored China to the top of the podium in the women's 3m springboard, as they completed another double inside seven days scoring 335.40 points to finish well clear of Mexican pair Aranixa Chavez and Laura Sanchez, who improved on their bronze at the Water Cube last week.

The bronze in Dubai went to Italy's Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallape.

The diving action in Dubai is due to continue through until Saturday (March 22).
