August 19 - Denise Shively has been selected for induction into the US Synchro Hall of FameOlympic synchronised swimming bronze-medallist Sara Lowe is to be inducted into the United States Synchronised Swimming Hall of Fame along with vice-president of Competitive Operations and current national team manager Denise Shively.


Lowe, who won bronze at Athens 2004 as part of the US team, will be inducted as an athlete while Shively (pictured top) will be inducted as a contributor at the opening session of the Board of Governors and Board of Directors of US Synchro in Anaheim on September 13.

Lowe, 29, was a member of the US team that won gold at the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic as well a former world junior bronze medallist and was also a member of the Stanford University Cardinals team that won four consecutive Collegiate National Championships, serving as captain for three years, winning titles in the solo, duet, team and elements events.

She will join the likes of fellow Olympians Carrie Barton, Kristina Lum and Athens 2004 teammate Anna Kozlova who were inducted into the Hall of Fame last year.

"This honour is one that Sara so richly deserves, as her athletic achievements are many, culminating of course with a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in 2004," said USA Synchro President Judy McGowan.

"USA Synchro is proud to be inducting Sara into our Hall of Fame."

Shively, a level four national judge and current head coach of the Columbus Carolinas, has served as USA Synchro's National and Olympic team manager since 2003 and has also been technical chair and officials' chair for the Ohio Association and the North Zone.

"Denise works tirelessly for our athletes, coaches and organisation," said McGowan.

"She is highly respected by all who work with her.

"USA Synchro is proud to be inducting Denise into our Hall of Fame."
