Asia set to host 2019 swimming World Championships

October 28 – FINA, the international governing body of swimming, has announced that China, Japan and South Korea will be bidding to host the 2019 World Championships. However, at this stage, the three countries have not confirmed which cities they will be putting forward to host the event.
Formal bids will be submitted by April, with FINA choosing the 2019 host in July in Barcelona, at next year's World Championships.
At the 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai last year, synchronised swimmer Natalia Ishchenko of Russia was the most decorated competitor winning six gold medalsKazan in Russia will host the 2015 Championships, while Guadalajara, Mexico, will stage the 2017 event.
The FINA World Championships feature five aquatics disciplines: swimming; water polo; diving; open water; and synchronised swimming.
