Urvasi Naidoo is leaving the Manchester-based International Netball Federation because she wants to be closer to her familySeptember 18 - International Netball Federation (INF) President Molly Rhone has announced the departure of chief executive Urvasi Naidoo, who has stepped down from the role following five years.

Naidoo will leave the Manchester-based world governing body at the end of the month to spend more time with her family and pursue a local career in the West Midlands.

Naidoo had held the position since July 2008 after joining from the International Cricket Council, where she was senior counsel and company secretary.

"I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of the INF to thank Urvasi for all her hard work and commitment to our sport over the past five years and to wish her all the very best in her new career," said Rhone.

The INF will soon be advertising for a new chief executive, while Britain's Clare Briegal will return to take up the reins on an interim basis.

She had previously held the post between May 2012 and January 2013 when Naidoo was on maternity leave. 

Naidoo had been the brand protection lawyer for the Organising Committee at Salt Lake City 2002 and worked as a doping control station manager at London 2012.
