The 12-strong squad was unveiled by Welsh Netball and will be led by captain Suzy Drane as the team makes it third appearance at the Commonwealth Games after missing Delhi 2010.

New Zealand-born Hyndman was dismissed earlier this month for "disciplinary reasons", according to Welsh Netball, and was replaced by assistant Williams.

Hyndman had been in charge since 2010 and oversaw a successful period for Wales, guiding them to ninth place at the 2011 World Championships in Singapore and an historic first gold at the 2013 Europe Open Netball Championships in Aberdeen, as well as sealing qualification for this year's Commonwealth Games.

Despite the recent upheaval, under Williams Wales have continued their good form by securing qualification for next year's World Cup in Sydney by retaining their Netball Europe Championships title in Cardiff with a 51-43 victory over Northern Ireland in their final match.

Williams insists the squad is "a united group of players ready to put their heart and soul in to representing Wales to the very best of their ability".

Joining Drane will be vice-captain Cara Lea Moseley, along with Bethan Dyke, Nic James, Kyra Jones, Kelly Morgan, Billy Pritchard, Steph Myddelton, Nia Jones, Becky James, Chelsea Lewis and Leanne Thomas.

"It is a huge honour to be selected as captain of a very talented and enthusiastic group, and we are going to Glasgow prepared to deliver on court performances that excite and inspire the many supporters we have in Wales," said Drane.

Wales' best finish at a Commonwealth Games came in 2002 in Manchester when they came sixth and they face a tough challenge in Glasgow having been drawn against world champions Australia and three-time Commonwealth Games bronze medallists England.

Barbados, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago complete the Group B line-up.

Defending champions New Zealand have been drawn in Group A where they will face Jamaica, Malawi, Northern Ireland, St. Lucia, and hosts Scotland.

"The 2014 Commonwealth Games will demonstrate the wealth of talent that Team Wales has to offer, and the strength of our squad heading to Glasgow represents huge strides forward for Welsh Netball," said Mike Watson., chief executive of Welsh Netball.

"We know the squad, including the management team, will set the highest possible standards and on behalf of everyone involved in Welsh Netball would like to wish the squad the very best of luck."

The Glasgow 2014 netball competition is due to begin on July 24 at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre Precinct and last for 12 days with the finals taking place at the SSE Hydro.
