To promote the World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024, the Local Organising Committee has worked with ambassadors, including former World Champions, Olympic medallists and star athletes who will be competing from 2-18 February 2024.

The World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024 Opening Ceremony promoted peace and unity through sport as it showcased Qatar's deep connection with water during in an immersive and exciting show at the Aspire Dome.

Doha 2024 is set to break the records for the highest number of participating athletes and countries represented at the World Aquatics Championships when Qatar hosts the flagship event for the first time from 2-18 February 2024.

Australian swimmer Mack Horton, an Olympic gold medallist, has unexpectedly announced his retirement from competitive swimming just six months before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He cited a lack of motivation as the reason for his decision.

The 2024 World Aquatics Open Water Swimming Junior World Championships will take place from 6-8 September and will bring together over 200 swimmers aged 14-19 from 35 countries. The last edition was held in Beau Vallon, Seychelles, in 2022.

The Doha 2024 World Aquatics Championships has launched the volunteer application process for the premier aquatics event set to be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, from 2-18 February 2024.

This week, from 5th to 10th December, the Romanian city of Otopeni will host a new edition of the European Short Course Swimming Championships (25m), with the Romanian David Popovici as the main protagonist. 

The World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 will take place in three Asian cities over three consecutive weeks in October and November 2024. These events will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 (Short Course) Budapest World Championships.

World Aquatics opens a training centre in partnership with Cercle Des Nageurs d’Antibes in Antibes, France. The new World Aquatics Training Centre will serve as the epicentre for preparation for the Paris Games and beyond.

The 2024 Open Water Swimming World Cup season kicks off in the waters of Soma Bay, Egypt, home to the successful 2023 Open Water Swimming World Cup as part of the Egypt Aquatics Festival. The second stop will be Golfo Aranci, Italy, a coastal town renowned for its warm Sardinian hospitality. "Sardinia is like a second home for many of us who compete in open water swimming. It's always a joy to race there," said German swimmer Leonie Beck.
