The key event will see nations battling it out at the Lillehammer Curling Hall for the final two spots at the 2015 World Championship, which is being held in Lohja, Finland, next February.

Pål Trulsen, general secretary of the Norwegian Curling Association, welcomed the announcement and said the tournament will be good practice for his nation ahead of its hosting of the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympics.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to test out our venue ahead of the Winter Youth Olympic Games which will be taking place in this same curling venue in February 2016," he said.

"In Norway, we are always looking to increase awareness of the various disciplines of curling and this event will give Lillehammer the opportunity to see wheelchair curling shortly after the hugely successful Paralympic Winter Games held in Sochi earlier this year."

Defending world champions Canada, silver medallists Sweden and bronze medallists China have already qualified for the 2015 World Championship, along with the United States, Russia, Scotland and Slovakia, as they also finished in the top seven at the 2013 edition in Sochi, Russia.
