In a rematch of the 2009 final, also in Baton Rouge, which Wagner won in straight sets, world number seven Burdekin came from behind to beat the American 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-3 for just his second career victory over Wagner.

"I'm made up, just pinch me," said Burdekin, who has now beaten the world's current top two ranked players this season.

"It took more than three-and-a-half hours and was one of the best matches I've ever been involved in.

"All the hard work in training is paying off.

"I feel mentally stronger and love problem solving on court."

Wagner was given the chance to avenge this defeat later in the day when he and partner Nick Taylor, who also lost to the Briton, faced Burdekin and Australian partner Dylan Alcott in the quad doubles final.

After a tense opening set, Wagner and Taylor were able to successfully defend their title, running out eventual 7-6(5), 6-3 winners.

The men's singles competition saw British top seed Gordon Reid cruise to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Dutch world number six Maikel Scheffers.

He will now face third-seed Gustavo Fernandez in tomorrow's final following the Argentine's three set victory over Belgian second-seed Joachim Gerard.

The women's singles final will be an all-Dutch affair after world number four and defending champion Aniek van Koot completed a comprehensive 6-4, 6-0 victory over Germany's world number one Sabine Ellerbrock, while Jiske Griffioen beat her compatriot and fourth seed Marjolein Buis 6-4, 6-2.

The men's doubles final will see Dutch duo Scheffers and Ronald Vink take on second seeds Gerard and Frenchman Nicolas Peifer.

In the women's equivalent, Ellerbrock and Britain's Lucy Shuker will take on top seeds Kgothatso Montjane of South Africa and Jordanne Whiley of Great Britain.
