Japanese top seed Miki, who hit an all time high world ranking of eight in January after reaching his first final of an ITF Super Series event in Sydney, was dominant in his men's final clash against British second seed Marc McCarroll.

The pair were both trying to rectify the loss they faced at the hands of Adam Kellerman and Ben Weekes in the doubles final yesterday.

However, it was Miki who took the initiative early on to storm to a comfortable 6-0 first set.

Fortunes changed slightly for the Briton in the second set as he began to find his rhythm on the court, but the Japanese top seed proved too strong for the world number 14 and secured a 6-4 second set win to take the match and his second title of the 2014 season.

Four wins out of four was enough for Germany's Kruger to secure the women's title with a simple round-robin approach determining the outcome.

The world number 10, who had claimed the doubles title the previous day, comfortably beat Japan's Miho Nijo 6-2, 6-3 in the final fixture to add her second title of the Desert Classic.

Her partner in the doubles, Britain's Louise Hunt, claimed runners-up honours after her 6-4, 6-1 win over American Dana Mathewson provided her third victory from four matches.

The second of three back-to-back ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour events in the US is due get underway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Wednesday (March 19) as players battle for the ITF Series 1 Cajun Classic title.
