As hosts of the European Championships, at the University of Worcester from August 28 to September 6, the Great Britain coaches drew the 12 nations that make up the men's competition into two groups of six.

The outcome was that the British men were drawn in Pool A with the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Spain and Poland, while the six teams that make up Pool B are Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.

Great Britain will be aiming to secure their third consecutive men's title, having won the past two editions in Nazareth in 2011 and in Frankfurt in 2013

The Championship will serve as the qualification tournament for European teams bidding for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.



In the women's Championship seven teams will compete in a round robin format, with Germany aiming to win back the title they lost to The Netherlands in Frankfurt in 2013.

France, Italy, Spain and Turkey will join the hosts Britain in trying to end The Netherlands and Germany's domination of the event, as two nations have won every edition of the Championships since the inaugural tournament in 1974, with Germany having claimed nine titles and the Netherlands winning five.

It is estimated that the 2015 Championships will garner a live audience of around 15,000 people, attracting spectators from across Europe and will see 125 hours' worth of matches set to take place.
