Germany are hoping to defend the title they picked up two years ago in Stoke Mandeville, Great Britain and are one of four teams to progress through the group stages as leaders of group B.

Three wins out of three gave the Germans top spot in their group as they added a closely fought 52-49 victory over Italy to previous wins over Spain and Poland.

Despite the final group defeat, Italy will join Germany in the semi-finals after overcoming Poland and hosts Spain 81-50 and 56-51 respectively.
