The Bosnians recorded three straight-sets wins over Kazakhstan, Brazil and Croatia to top Pool C in Elblag, Poland, to advance to the quarter-final stage and justify their pre-tournament tag as favourites for the gold medal.

The European champions will face Egypt in the next round after wins over Iraq and the United States saw them finish behind five-time Paralympic champions and London 2012 silver medallists Iran, who recorded three wins-from-three to top Pool B.

With wins over Croatia and the Kazakhs, Brazil secured their quarter-final berth as runners-up in Pool C and will now face Pool D winners Russia, who also impressed as they overcame London 2012 bronze medallists Germany, as well as Morocco and The Netherlands.

The Germans will take on Pool A winners China as they proved too strong for Ukraine, Poland and Algeria.

On the women's side, the Chinese have also looked imperious as they guaranteed their place in the semi-finals.

The Paralympic champions have recorded four-wins-from-four against Germany, Ukraine, Brazil and the Netherlands to sit atop Pool B with one game left to play against the Japanese.

London 2012 bronze medal winners Ukraine and The Netherlands face a winner-takes-all clash tomorrow to decide who takes the second semi-final spot from the pool.

The US, silver medallists from London 2012, will take on European champions Russia in their final Pool A match in an encounter which looks set to decide who goes through as winners and runners-up as both sides have been unbeaten so far recording wins over Finland, Slovenia, Poland and Great Britain.

The top two teams from each women's group go straight through to the semi-finals.

The action in Elblag is due to continue through until Saturday (June 21).
