McClelland became the first Paratriathlete to win four consecutive world titles following her victory in Hyde Park earlier this year.

Competing in the Tri-4 category, she led the British team to a remarkable one, two, three beating fellow teammates Lauren Steadman and Clare Cunningham to the gold medal.

Despite missing the European Championship in order to concentrate on completing her finals in physiotherapy at the University of Brighton, McClelland took her fourth world title in emphatic style to set her in great stead ahead of Rio 2016,where triathlon will make its Paralympic debut.

"It feels immense, I'm really proud," said McClelland after receiving her award.

"It's been a tough year for me, finishing my finals at university and trying to train for the Worlds in September.

"I had tough competition, tougher than previous years and I'm delighted to have retained this title.

"It was brilliant to medal alongside Lauren and Clare, they both did equally well and we were all proud to represent Great Britain on the podium in London."

Hogg, meanwhile, broke onto the Paratriathlon scene just last year after being recognised for his potential at a talent identification weekend in Loughborough.

He went on to win his first ever triathlon at the European Championship in Turkey and now has his sights set on Rio 2016.

"I'm really chuffed to receive this award tonight," he said.

"I've had an amazing season, I've trained really hard and I'm delighted with my results.

"So yes, I'm a happy man.

"I'm concentrating on Rio now, I think about it when I wake up in the morning and go to bed at night, and I can picture myself competing for Great Britain in Rio at the first Paralympic Games for triathlon."
