Davies just edged past Australian Bradley Mark in a tight finish in the mixed R4 10 metre air rifle standing SH2 competition, finishing on 209 points ahead of Mark on 208.7, with Greek Evangelos Kakosaios taking the bronze medal on 187.2.

Seven-time Paralympian Coates showed her experience and class as she surprisingly overcame Beijing 2008 champion and reigning European champion Veronika Vadovicova of Slovakia in the women's R2 10m air rifle standing SH1 event.

Again the winning margin could barely have been closer as the Briton claimed victory on 201.7 points, with her Slovakian opponent ending up on 201.4.

Turkey's Suzan Cevik scored 181.6 to take the bronze.

Vadovicova was also denied in the mixed R3 10m air rifle prone SH1 as Norway's Paul Aksel Johansen took the win with 211.9, with the Slovakian matching her performance in this discipline at last year's European Championships in Alicante, Spain by taking silver, ahead of Dane Jens Frimann.

Frimann secured his second bronze of the weekend as he finished behind European champion Laslo Suranji of Serbia, who registered an unbeatable score of 204.5 to take the men's R1 10m air rifle standing SH1 title ahead of Britain's Owen Burke.

Suranji's team mate Dragan Ristic secured Serbia's second gold in Szczecin with victory in the mixed R5 10m air rifle prone SH2 ahead of New Zealander Michael Johnson and Australian Mark, who bagged his second medal of the weekend also.

Meanwhile in the pistol events, a shock took place in the women's P2 10m air pistol SH1 competition as reigning Paralympic champion Olivera Nakovska-Bikova of Macedonia finished in a disappointing eighth place.

The gold and silver medals were claimed by Iranians Sareh Javanmardidodmani, who finished third at London 2012, and team mate Alieh Mahmoudikordkheili respectively, with Turk Aysel Ozgan taking bronze.

There was also a one-two finish in the mixed P5 10m air pistol SH1 as Russian Andrey Lebedinskiy beat European champion team mate Sergey Malyshev, with Hungarian Gyula Gurisatti completing the podium.

Lebedinskiy and Malyshev repeated the trick in the men's P1 10m air pistol SH1 to complete a remarkable double, with another European champion in the form of the host nation's Filip Rodzik taking bronze.

Next up is Fort Benning in the United States, which will host the third IPC Shooting World Cup of the year from June 3 to 7, before attention turns to the World Championships in Suhl, Germany, which run from July 17 to 26.
