The Algerian's are among seven teams making their way to the Kenyan capital for the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball African Championships as they bid to qualify for next year's World Championships in Espoo, Finland.

The regional qualifier begins on Monday (December 2) and will see just the top two teams progress to next year's showpiece event, with the winner being crowned African champions.

Algeria, the only African team to have participated in the London 2012 Paralympic Games, will come into the week-long tournament in a strong position, while teams from Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana are likely to do battle for the other qualifying spot.

The tournament was originally due to take place in Cairo, Egypt on October 25 until 31, however, due to the unrest seen in the country over the past year IBSA saw fit to cancel the event and move it to a later date in a different location.
