Cássio Reis, a defender by trade, bagged a brace to make him the tournament's joint top goalscorer with three, while captain Ricardinho also got his name on the scoresheet before Juan David Pérez Quintero scored a consolation for Colombia.

The Brazilians laboured to a 1-0 win against Turkey in their opening Group B match yesterday and Reis said he was determined to put things right today.

"The match against Turkey was more difficult," he told the Brazilian Paralympic Committee after the match.

"We were unable to score and I was charged up for this game because I wanted a better performance.

"Today, everything went right.

"I scored two goals and helped the team.

"This early classification is very important to give tranquillity to the team in the next game against China."

Meanwhile in Group A, Paraguay's Ricardo Peralta stole the headlines by scoring a hat-trick in his country's 3-0 win against London 2012 silver medallists France.

Hosts Japan top the group with four points after a goalless draw with Morocco.

As for Group C, Antonio Martín Gaitán converted a second-half penalty to earn Spain a 1-1 draw against Germany.

Tomorrow's action sees the conclusion of Group A as Japan play France and Paraguay meet Morocco, while China go up against Turkey in Group B and South Korea face Argentina in Group C.
