The 29-year-old, winner of five gold medals at the 2013 IPC World Championships in Lyon, who also won last year's London Marathon, triumphed in the T54 5,000 metres in a time of 11min 18.38sec to get the better of a strong field.

Rawat Tana of Thailand was next across the line, less than a second behind, with Yassine Gharbi of Tunisia third.

There were four world records elsewhere in Dubai, with the only other on the track coming courtesy of Tunisia's multiple world and Paralympic champion Walid Ktila, who added the 100m T33/34 title to his earlier wins over 200m, 400m and 800m.

The 29-year-old clocked 15.47 to get the better of Switzerland's Bojan Mitic and home hope Mohamed Hammadi.

Three world records came in field events, meanwhile, with Saudi Arabia's Hani Alnakhli throwing 28.76m in the discus F33 and Iraq's Kovan Abdulraheem managing a javelin F41 best mark with a throw of 42.54m.

On a good day for Arab nations, Tunisia's world discus F41 champion Raoua Tlili added to her shot put win a day ago with victory, and a world record, in the women's discus F40/41 class, with a best throw of 28.98m.

London 2012 champion in the T12 category El Amin Chentouf of Morocco was among the winners in other 5,000m events, finishing in 14:53.44, a time almost a minute slower than the world record he set two years ago.

Among others victorious on another busy day of action in the Emirati city was Iraq's Kovan Abdulraheem, who won the F40/41 javelin in 42.54 metres, and Great Britain's London 2012 champion Hannah Cockroft in the 100m T34 class.

Competition continues with a final day in Dubai tomorrow.
