With 109 medals in total - 70 gold, 31 silver and eight bronze - China finished a staggering 82 medals ahead of Korea in second, who won eight gold.

After 10 continental records were broken across the first two days of competition, the final day saw no records fall, although two long-standing Asian records in the field did come under serious threat.

Local teenager Mingyu Chen came agonisingly close to breaking Qifeng Duan's long jump T12 Asian record, which has stood since the Athens 2004 Paralympics, jumping just 17 centimetres short with a distance of 6.83 metres.

On the women's side, London 2012 shot put and javelin champion Liwan Yang tried her hand at a new throwing event, this time winning the F54 discus competition with a throw of 17.03m, just 28cm shy of Ting Wang's near eight-year-old discuss Asian record set at the 2006 World Championships.

A three-way race for the men's 400m T54 crown was the highlight on the track as 2008 and 2012 Paralympic champion, as well as world record holder, Lixin Zhang, faced-off against 2011 world champion and London 2012 bronze medallist Chengming Liu, and London 2012 100m silver medallist Yang Liu.

Finishing in 47.99sec, it was Chengming who came out on top of this all-Chinese encounter, edging Yang by less than two tenths of a second, with Lixin left to settle for third, a further two seconds behind.

In other events, London 2012 champion Huzhao Li won the men's 400m T53 in a time of 51.69, multiple Paralympic and world champion Hongzhuan Zhou cruised to victory in the women's equivalent, finishing in 57.47, and Japan's Daisuke Nakagawa secured an easy victory in the men's 5,000m T20 with a time of 15:17.01.

Athletes' attentions will now turn to São Paulo, Brazil as hundreds of competitors from 10 countries get set to compete in the II Caixa Loterias Athletics and Swimming Open Championships, the third leg of the IPC Athletics Grand Prix, taking place between April 24 and 26.
