The competition, which is the first major indoor event in the UK Athletics calendar, has taken place in Glasgow every year since 1988 while this year will see the event moved from the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena to the £113 million ($177 million/€144 million) Emirates Arena.

The move to the Emirates Arena coincides with another first as Britain's top Paralympians appear at the competition following the huge success of the London 2012 Paralympics.

UK Athletics have named a Paralympic team for Glasgow that includes London 2012 100 metres T12 silver medallist Libby Clegg (pictured top left) and long jump F44 silver medallist Stef Reid, who will be competing in the 60m T11/12 and long jump F44/46 respectively at the Emirates Arena.

"It will be fantastic to see some of our Paralympic athletes appearing in another high profile event against great competition from around the world," said Dunn, who was promoted to UK Athletics Paralympic head coach following the Paralympics.

"Having had such an incredible Games in London we need to capitalise on our success and competing in Glasgow will allow them to do that."


Also competing in disability events in Glasgow are three members of the British gold medal winning 4x100m T37 relay team from London 2012 as Olivia Breen, Katrina Hart and Jenny McLoughlin all line up over 60m.

Meanwhile, in the men's 60m T46, Paralympic bronze medallist Ola Abidogun will be in action.

The event will see Britain go head-to-head with teams from the United States, Germany, Russia and the Commonwealth with the able-bodied team including high profile athletes such as sprinter Dwain Chambers, high jumper Robbie Grabarz and pole vaulter Holly Bleasdale.

The meeting will replicate the format of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games in the city next year where able-bodied and disabled athletes compete alongside each other in a fully integrated competition.
