Sophie Pascoe_July_23_July 23 - Paralympics New Zealand has unveiled the team uniform for London 2012 at their pre-Games training camp in Auckland where they were modelled by some of the nation's biggest medal hopes, including swimmer Sophie Pascoe.

The 19-year-old (pictured top) from Canterbury, who lost her left leg below the knee in a lawn mower accident when she was just two, became a huge star in New Zealand after winning three gold medals and a silver at the Beijing 2008 Paralympics and will be hoping to achieve similar success at London 2012 in the new attire.

The team uniform was also modelled by cyclists Chris Ross (pictured below), Laura Thompson, Phillipa Gray and Fiona Southorn, all strong medal contenders at London 2012.

The kit has been specially created by Paralympics New Zealand in partnership with designers 2XU for athletes and team support staff.

New Zealand brand Icebreaker have supported the travel and dress uniform with the inclusion of a merino hoodie jacket as part of the travel uniform, and a t-shirt and scarf as part of the formal uniform.

"The unveiling of our team uniform is a very exciting time and a key milestone for our athletes in their build up to London 2012," said New Zealand Paralympic team Chef de Mission Duane Kale.

"From my experience as Chef de Mission with the Beijing 2008 team, the uniform binds the team and further assists our athletes to perform."

The New Zealand Paralympic team will have a selection of uniforms including a travel uniform, a medal ceremony uniform, Athletes' Village wear and dress uniform.

The dress uniform reflects New Zealand's national colour of black and will be worn at the Opening Ceremony on August 29 at the Olympic Stadium.
