The Canadian Paralympic Committee have announced a corporate partnership with Fasken Martineau ©CPCA partnership has been announced between the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and Fasken Martineau, a leading international business law and litigation firm, in a deal which will see them act as the organisation's official legal partner until 2018.

The partnership will also see Fasken Martineau become a crucial fundraiser for the CPC, in addition to enhancing awareness of the Paralympic brand across Canada, with the city of Toronto set to host the Parapan Games from August 7 to 15. 

"Through this partnership with Fasken Martineau, the power of the Paralympic brand has the potential to be even further showcased across corporate Canada," said Gaétan Tardif, President of the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

"We are delighted to welcome Fasken Martineau to the team and look forward to working together to continue to grow the Canadian Paralympic movement."

Fasken Martineau will support the non-profit organisation by raising funds through its Canadian offices in Calgary, Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver, as part of the company's commitment to investing in communities across the country through participating in charitable activities.

"This is a significant relationship for Fasken Martineau and we are proud to get behind the Canadian Paralympic movement and to support the CPC in a meaningful way through legal services and fundraising activities," said Peter Feldberg, managing partner of Fasken Martineau.

"We look forward to supporting the athletes as they prepare for the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games this summer, the Paralympic Summer Games in Rio in 2016 and the Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeonchang in 2018."

The agreement adds to the CPC's existing list of partners which includes Air Canada, Bell Canada, Canadian Tire, CIBC, Hudson Bay Company, Pfizer Canada and Petro-Canada, as the organisation attempts to promote awareness of the Paralympic brand across corporate Canada.

In 2014, the CPC were awarded the Most Valuable Amateur Sport Property award at the Canadian Sponsorship Forum.

The partnership comes just two months after the CPC, as well as the Canadian Olympic Committee, announced a lucrative funding agreement with the Canadian Sports Institute Network, with the aim of improving the countries elite level athletes, in keeping with the countries aim to become the "world's leading" Paralympic nation.
