The pair were presented with the awards during the USA Track and Field annual awards breakfast, held in conjunction with the body's Annual Meeting at the Anaheim Hilton in Anaheim.

Both athletes have had incredible seasons in their respective disciplines and were recognised accordingly by the national governing body.

Browne went unbeaten throughout 2014 in both indoor and outdoor competitions.

In addition to finishing the year ranked number one in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Rankings for the 100 metres and 200m T44, Browne also smashed the 200m world record at the International Association of Athletics Federations Diamond League in Brussels.

His time of 21.62 seconds took 0.29 off his previous best.

He will be hoping to keep the momentum going into 2015 and 2016 where he will bidding for his first individual title at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

At London 2012 the 23-year-old won silver in the men's 100m T44 before taking gold in the men's 4x100m relay at the World Championships in Lyon in 2013, as well as silver in the men's 100m.

McFadden, on the other hand, has had success both on the road and on the slopes this year.

After switching to the skis for Sochi 2014, the three-time Paralympic champion won silver in the women's 1km cross-country sprint classic.

Just over a month later, she returned to the road to win the London Marathon wheelchair race.

With further wins in Boston, Chicago and New York City, the Russian-born racing star captured her second consecutive marathon Grand Slam, extending her winning streak to an incredible eight marathons.

The 10-time World Championships gold medallist is the first athlete, able bodied or wheelchair, to accomplish this remarkable feat.
