The pair were presented with their awards at the Austria Centre Vienna following impressive outings at Sochi 2014.

Lösch, 26, sealed a brace of silver medals at the Games in both the women's super-G and giant slalom.

The achievements earned her a fourth Athlete of the Year award after being crowned in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

"I am very happy that I won again, because it was a really difficult season," she said.

"Thank you to everyone who voted for me."

Salcher, on the other hand, won two gold medals in Sochi, in the men's standing downhill and super-G.

The 23-year-old also secured bronze in the giant slalom competition.

"The trophy is harder than I thought and it's great that I got it but it has been going on, the preparations for the World Cup in 2015," said Salcher.

Around 1,600 people from sports, politics, economy and culture were in attendance at the show, which was named the 'Night of Sports'.
