The Army faced off against the Air Force and proved too strong on the night, taking the bronze with an impressive 25-20, 25-19 win.

Gold in the sitting volleyball will be decided tomorrow when the Marines take on the Navy.

The Army was in fine form in the archery competition today, also claiming four medals including two gold in team events.

Retired Captain Frank Barroqueiro led the squad to top honours in the team compound event, while also claiming silver in the individual event.

"Archery is my favourite event, and I especially love the team event because we can all feed off one another," said Barroqueiro.

"We are all combat wounded guys, so there's a lot of relation between what we used to do in the training aspect.

"This is my second Warrior Games, and it's been great to be back competing."

It was not such good news for the Army in the wheelchair basketball competition, as the Marines came out on top in a rematch of the gold medal game from last year.

The Marines advance to the gold medal game on Friday (October 3) following a 42-21 win.

In the night's other match, the Navy overcame the Air Force 28-20, meaning the Air Force and the Army will meet tomorrow, with the winner going on to face the Marines in Friday's decider.
