Russia won numerous gold medals at the 2014 IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport Continents Cup ©Facebook/IPCRussia has dominated the 2014 International Paralympic Committee Wheelchair Dance Sport Continents Cup on home turf with gold in most of the events.

The hosts got their gold rush underway in Saint Petersburg thanks to a podium topping performance by Irina Gordeeva and Dmitry Torgunakov in the duo standard two.

Silver in that event went to another Russian pair, Alexandra Berdnik and Sergey Antanov, while the bronze medal was claimed by South Korea's Moonjung Choi and Jonchul Choi.

The Russian winning streak continued in the combi Latin, where Galina Ryzhkova and Viacheslav Osipov took the gold medal, and their compatriots Svetlana Kukushkina and Maksim Sedakov secured the silver.

The event South Korea taking home their second bronze medal thanks to Eunji Lee and Youngho Lee claimed bronze.

Sedakov then went one better to win the gold medal in the single men's conventional, ahead of Germany's Erik Machens and J Choi, who claimed silver and bronze respectively.

The combi standard two event also saw another Russian victory thanks to Tatiana Skvortsova and Stanislav Sheshukov, while their compatriots Irina Gordeeva and Alexander Lyngom took silver.

Again, it was South Korea in third place with M Choi and Junyoung Park taking bronze.

Slovakia's Helena Kasicka and Peter Vidasic ensured there was a break in the pattern as they won the gold medal in the combi standard one, ahead of South Koreans Hyejeong Jung and Jaewon Lee.

Russia did claim the bronze medal in the event thanks to Anastasia Vasilenko and Kirill Kiryukhantsev, before the hosts made it a clean sweep in the single women's competition as Ryzhkova, Berdnik and Nursina Galieva claimed the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.

Another medal for Berdnik came in the duo Latin two+four, with partner Antonov, as they topped the podium ahead of M Choi and J Choi, and compatriots Galieva and Evgeny Gusev.

Gold in the single men's freestyle class went to Mexico's Yermain Fernandez, while Machens claimed silver and J Choi took the bronze.

The final Russian gold came in the women's equivalent, where Ryzhkova secured victory ahead of Mexico's Guilhermina Hernandez and her compatriot Anna Peshkova.
