IPC-LogoJune 13 - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) have called for bids to host VISTA2015, the seventh edition of their science conference, which has been held in the German city of Bonn on the last three occasions.

The last edition of the conference took place last month and featured various experts who addressed over 200 participants from five continents on the designated theme of Paralympic equipment, from the issue of manufacturing low-cost equipment for disadvantaged athletes to sophisticated new technologies and the evolution of products.

After three editions on the banks of the Rhine, the IPC are opening the opportunity to host the conference to cities in order to further spread the message and development of the Paralympic Movement.

Peter Van de Vliet, IPC Medical and Scientific Director, said: "VISTA2013 was the most successful edition of the conference yet in terms of participant engagement and feedback.

"We are now hoping to attract a more widespread and diverse audience for the next conference, which will be held just a year prior to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games."
