Copenhagen generalMay 16 - Details have been released by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) of its 9th General Assembly in Copenhagen later this year. 


The event, which is due to take place between August 29 and September 1 in the Danish capital, will have the theme "Sport for Blind People - a Vision for Life".

The conference, organised by Denmark's National Paralympic Committee (DHIF), will begin on August 29 with the IBSA Management Committee and Executive Board meetings before being followed the next day by the Blind Sports Conference. 

The General Assembly is due on August 31 and Septmber 1, when a series of elections for a variety of committees on four-year terms will be held. 

More than 120 delegates from 119 member nations across five continents are expected to attend the Assembly.

The Assembly provides strategic guidance to the Executive Board, which appoints official committees, working groups and task forces based on the resolutions and recommendations of IBSA's membership.
