The deal comes three years before the Games are due to begin in the South Korean resort ©Pyeongchang 2018Pyeongchang 2018 and the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) is co-hosting the World Broadcasters Briefing (WBB) at the Alpensia Resort in South Korea with less than three years to go until the Games begin.

The five-day event is being attended by 63 participants including representatives from nine different Olympic Rights Holding Broadcasters (RHB) such as American network NBC and the BBC.

The briefing forms part of the build-up to the World Broadcasters Meetings (WBMs), due to be held in 2016 and 2017.

During the course of the briefing, the OBS and RHB's will be able to view the International Broadcasting Centre due to be used for the Winter Olympic Games at the South Korean resort, scheduled to take place from February 9 to 25.

They will also be given a tour of the broadcasting facilities at the various different venues.

The event follows an OBS delegation visiting all the competition arenas to formulate a broadcast production plan ahead of the eagerly-anticipated Winter Olympic and Paralympics.

Pyeongchang 2018 has been littered with problems as of late as concerns continue to grow about the slow progress of preparations and constant rumours that North Korea will host some of the events seem to linger underneath the surface.

These allegations were quashed once again this week as Pyeongchang 2018 President Cho Yang-ho suggested only a natural disaster could make that happen, adding he felt that it would make "limited economic sense".

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) have agreed to form a special task force with Pyeongchang 2018 in order to attempt to get preparations back on track, while South Korean President Park Geun-hye has urged companies to get behind the Games.

Pyeongchang 2018 are worried that companies may not support the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and they currently have only four domestic sponsors, as well as the fact they are several billion won shy of their target.

Earlier this month, International Ski Federation (FIS) President Gian-Franco Kasper, the head of the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations, claimed it would be "impossible" for test events to take place as scheduled because of problems with the planned venues.

Another fear for the IOC is the apparent lack of interest in Pyeongchang 2018, both in South Korea and internationally.
