Sochi 2014 facilities escape undamaged after minor earthquake

December 10 - Sochi has escaped undamaged following a minor earthquake which hit the Black Sea coast. The earthquake, which measured 4.8 on the Richter scale, hit about 34 kilometres northwest of the port city of Novorossiisk, with the tremors being felt in Sochi.
But Olympstroi, the company overseeing the constrcution of the facilities for the 2014 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, said no damage was caused, according to Russian news agency Interfax.
No injuries were reported either.
It was the second earthquake to hit the region this year, following one of 4.2 in May.
