Bosco sign_deal_with_Sochi_2014_for_volunteer_programmeNovember 25 - Bosco, a sponsor of Russia's Olympic team for nearly ten years, have extended their support to Sochi 2014, it has been announced.

They have agreed  to become the official outfitters of the city volunteers for the test events in Sochi, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sochi city administration.

The MOU was signed at a special ceremony here by Mikhail Kusnirovich (pictured above right), the head of Bosco's parent company, Bosco di Ciliegi, and Anatoly Pakhomov (left), the Mayor of Sochi.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, the President and chief executive of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, also attended the event along with Jean-Claude Killy, the triple Olympic skiing champion who is the chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission for the Games, and René Fasel, the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation, who is also an IOC member.

Gilbert Felli, the IOC's Executive Director for the Olympic Games, was also present.

"Bosco is determined to help engage more fans more powerfully with the Olympic Movement," said Kusnirovich.

"The Sochi 2014 volunteer programme will be a great platform for achieving that and it is a real honour to be supporting the Organising Committee and the city administration in this initiative.

"At Bosco, we believe winning is about more than being on the podium; it's about passion, style and fair play; it's about the beauty of success.

"That's why we are proud supporters of the volunteer movement in Russia and the values it is instilling in our young people."

The latest MOU supplements Bosco's existing agreements with Sochi 2014.

As well as being the outfit suppliers for the Organising Committee, the 12,000 Torch Relay participants and all 30,000 volunteers, Bosco is also a Tier One sponsor.

"Bosco has been a loyal supporter of Sochi 2014, and I would like to thank them for their latest show of commitment to our cause," said Chernyshenko.

"Our volunteer programme is a key part of our mission to create a sustainable legacy today.

"When Sochi first began its Olympic journey, the volunteer movement was virtually non-existent in Russia.

"Over a quarter of a million volunteers have already taken part in various events driven by Sochi 2014 and our partners in the past year.

"I am sure this new partnership will help us sustain that incredible momentum."
