Trenton Oldfield_23-04-12April 24 - The man accused of disrupting the 158th University Boat Race by swimming in the River Thames has appeared in court and been prohibited from being within 100 metres of London's Olympic Torch Relay route.

Trenton Oldfield, 35-years-old and of Whitechapel, East London, was summoned to Feltham Magistrates' Court and charged under the Public Order Act after interrupting the April 7 race by swimming in the path of the competing Oxford and Cambridge boats.

Though released on bail, Oldfield is restricted from entering the City of Westminster on May 9, the state opening of Parliament, and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead before his Isleworth Crown Court appearance on May 28, a period in which several Borough events are planned to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Olympic Torch Relay, which Oldfield is also restricted to near, enters London via Greenwich on July 21 before concluding at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford six days later to signal the official start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

It enters the City on July 26 from Islington before moving on to Southwark and its final destinations.
