Nanjing 2014 sign Tencent as Tier One sponsor

October 31 - China's largest and most used internet service portal, Tencent, has signed up as the latest Tier One partner of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, it has been announced.
A special ceremony was held to announce the deal where the guests included Chen Ruolin, China's four-time Olympic diving gold medallist.
As the official Internet Service Partner of Nanjing 2014, Tencent will develop the official website for the Games, which will include key features such as latest news and information, sports programme and results, cultural and educational activities and interactive tools and games.
Tencent is ranked among the ten most visited websites in the world and is used by hundreds of millions young Chinese.
"Tencent is one of the largest and most influential website companies in China and will provide the Organising Committee with the necessary tools to promote the Youth Olympic Games to a wide international audience," said Liu Yian, the vice-secretary of Nanjing 2014.
"This cooperation and shared values will enable us to deliver surprising and memorable Games for young audiences around the world."
Chen, who won the women's 10 metre platform and 10m synchronised platform at Beijing 2008 and retained her titles at London 2012, is one of an estimated 100 million Chinese who use Tencent's instant messaging service.
"During the Youth Olympic Games I am looking forward to sharing Nanjing 2014 information, cool pictures, and exciting games," said the 19-year-old.
