The conference, themed "Sport under threat: the game is ours to win", will be held at Lancaster House, London on October 6 and 7 and bring together Ministers, high-level leaders and international experts from sport, betting, Government, civil society, law enforcement and anti-corruption.

The session will address a range of current topics and crucial issues currently facing sport, including the security and integrity of major sporting events, protecting young athletes and promoting the core values of sport.

Coe, a decorated athlete in his own right who led London's successful bid and Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, will be interviewed by former BBC sports editor, David Bond, in a special one-on-one session on October 7.

"Lord Coe has had a highly successful career as a sportsman, administrator and leader and will be an exceptional addition to the Securing Sport 2014 programme," said Mohammed Hanzab, President of the ICSS.

"He not only offers valuable knowledge on security and integrity in sport from an Olympic perspective but will provide a unique insight into delivering mega sporting events."

He added: "Strong leadership is now crucial if we are to confront issues like corruption, match-fixing and illegal betting and protect sports credibility and integrity.

"Sport is now under threat from all sides and as we look towards today's leaders for the answers of tomorrow, Securing Sport 2014 will provide a unique moment for leading Ministers and international experts to come together to help shape the future of our industry."

The ICSS is an international, independent and not-for-profit organisation which works with Governments, federations, clubs, leagues and event organisers with an aim to improve security, safety and integrity throughout the world of sport.

Amongst others, the ICSS has also announced today that David Howman, director general of the World Anti-Doping Agency, Barry Hearn, chairman of World Snooker, and Michael Hershman, founder of Transparency International, will speak at the conference.

On Wednesday (September 24), Germany footballing legend Franz Beckenbauer was confirmed as a speaker.
