There are a number of categories in which prizes are awarded, including the Individual Creative Sports Category for athletes, coaches, administrators and referees from the UAE and the Arab World that have achieved regional and global sports creativity and the Team Creative Sports Category for UAE and other Arab teams that have achieved regional and global sports creativity.

There is also the Corporate Creative Sports Category for sports bodies from the UAE and the Arab World that have achieved regional and global sports creativity, as well as International Sports Federations that have taken pioneering initiatives in spreading and developing sports.

All achievements must have been completed during the period from September 1, 2013 to August 31 this year.

The award's Secretariat said it has already received several files from UAE and Arab athletes and sports institutions, as well as from a number from International Federations.

Once the deadline for entries has passed the award team will categorise the applications and prepare them for the jury, which will start looking at the files in October.

Each entry is examined by two members of the jury whose nationalities differ from the nationality of the candidate to ensure objectivity and transparency.

The awards ceremony is due to take place on January 14, 2015

Candidates can submit files no later than August 31 through the award's official email [email protected] or through the award's website, as well as at the headquarters of the Dubai Sports Council in the Jadaf area of the city.
