The decision ensures that all donations, made by individuals and organisations in the US, are tax deductible.

This, according to the organisation, "opens the door for new and rewarding opportunities for potential donors and partners in the US to support over 8,500 Generations For Peace volunteers working in 50 countries and territories in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe."

"This agreement will see Generations For Peace's engagement with US partners and donors go from strength to strength," added Prince Feisal Al Hussein, founder and chairman of Generations For Peace.

"The continued hard work of our inspirational Generations For Peace volunteers is making a real impact in the sport and development community and this will enable us to provide even more support for their efforts."

Generations For Peace Inc was launched in July of 2013 with the aim to increase donor engagement and fundraising in the United States.

These extra funds would be used to support the organisation's global network of volunteer leaders of youth, who are taught to use sport, arts, advocacy, dialogue and empowerment to bring positive change to their local communities.

The Jordan-based organisation targets areas affected by conflict and violence, providing unique training and continuous support and mentoring to volunteer leaders of youth in an attempt to lead and cascade change in their communities, promoting active tolerance and responsible citizenship and working at the grass roots to address local issues of conflict and violence.

Generations For Peace was also awarded the "gold" status by the GuideStar Exchange, which provides a symbol for transparency and accountability in non-profit organisations.
