The deal will see the communication technology firm providing the computer hardware for the Games, as well as onsite technical assistance for technology applications in venues during Games time from July 4 to 18.

Emma Waiwai, chair of Port Moresby 2015, said she is delighted to have Daltron on board and is confident in the company's ability to provide essential information for both athletes and the public, while ensuring that data from the Games is secure.

"Momentum is increasing and the GOC (Games Organising Committee) is working full steam to deliver a successful Pacific Games and the support by Daltron will see significant technical expertise and more value added to this partnership," she added.

"I take this opportunity to thank Graham [Rix, General Manager of Daltron] and Daltron for making the decision.

"It is a win-win situation for the company and the GOC and more importantly your contributions to an event that will turn the country around for a better future as we celebrate 40 years of independence next year."

Rix added: "We have been operating in the country since 1977 and we are an integral part of the growth of Papua New Guinea and therefore our participation in these Games is something we are very proud of and we are excited to be involved in."
