Hosts Germany also won on the second day of the tournament as they cruised to a 6-0 victory over Italy in a match which was postponed yesterday.

Germany had a 2-0 lead when play resumed but quickly added another four goals to earn a comfortable win in their Group A opener.

A severe thunderstorm forced organisers to suspend the match last night.

After an interruption due to adverse weather, IBSA and tournament organisers decided the Group A clash should be completed first thing this morning.

Romania, England and France are the other teams which make up Group A.

The top two countries in each group will reach the last four before the final on August 26.

A purpose-built arena has been constructed in Berlin for the tournament, which is being organised by the German Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities and the Berlin Disability Sports Association.
