Its focus is on encouraging women to take on more responsibilities and get involved with sports leadership.

Nepal sent four women to the Rio 2016 Olympics in August, out of a team of seven.

Athlete Saraswati Bhattarai competed in the women's 1,500 metres with swimmer Gaurika Singh taking part in the 100m backstroke.

Taekwondo athlete Nisha Rawal entered the over-67 kilograms division with judoka Phupu Lhamu Khatri entering at under-63kg.
