Hickstead is poised to host the penultimate event of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Nations Cup Jumping Europe Division One League.

Italy currently standing at the top of the overall standings heading into the event, which will take place at the All England Jumping Course.

Britain will be competing at their home event but are not eligible to receive points as part of the competition because they are not a part of this year.

The Italian team currently boast a total number of 345 points from the first six competitions of the Nations Cup.

They are not allocated to be able to pick up points in the three-day event, offering their rivals a chance to close the gap.

Germany are currently second overall on 325 points and Sweden third with a tally of 307.5.

Organisers have confirmed France, Ireland, The Netherlands, Sweden and Spain will competing at in Hickstead, with each nation able to secure points.

Brazil will also be participating.

Seven Division One teams will qualify for the FEI Nations Cup Final in Barcelona, due held from September 28 to October 1.
