Eight-time British ski cross champion Emily Sarsfield has signed up service company ABC Group as a new "headline" sponsor as she bids to qualify for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

It comes after Sarsfield missed out on qualification for Sochi 2014 after narrowly failing to meet British Ski and Snowboard criteria.

To be eligible for selection, Sarsfield had to obtain three top-24 finishes in International Ski Federation (FIS) events during the Olympic cycle and finish inside the top-32 of the FIS world rankings as of January 2014.

While she achieved the requisite top-24 finishes, which included a 17th place finish at the World Championships, the 34-year-old finished 34th on the world rankings.

She has since competed consistently on the World Cup circuit and enjoyed a best finish of 13th in Feldberg last season.

She is also now working alongside new British coach Guillaume Nantermod.

"I am so excited and motivated by the new support," she said.

"Having ABC on board is a dream come true, it allows me to focus 100 per cent as an athlete.

"I can finally be on a level playing field with my peers and put my all into making GB proud.

"It's been a tough road to get here, but I'm determined and looking forward to the journey ahead with Team ABC."

ABC Group is an independently owned service company covering the construction industry in London and the south-east of England.

It has operated for the past 30 years.

"Having followed Emily's career over the last 12 years, we have been so impressed with her dedication, grit and sheer determination, not only in what is a very challenging sport, but also her efforts to raise funds to support herself at the highest level," said the company's managing director Andrew Buchanan.

"Now that she has the chance to compete at the 2018 Olympics we are proud to be able to give her the extra support she deserves."
