This month's European Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Tenerife will be live streamed on a pay-per-view basis, it has been announced.

Fans can tune into coverage of the event, which includes the top 12 men's and top six women's teams on the continent and runs from June 21 to 30, throughout the tournament.

Preliminary matches will cost €1 (£0.87/$1.12), while the price for the semi-finals has been set at €2 (£1.75/$2.24).

Finals will be live streamed for €3 (£2.62/$3.36) with access on the tournament website. 

Following the Opening Ceremony, action begins when Spain's women take on Turkey.

The Netherlands, who won the bronze medal at last year's Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, France, Britain and Rio 2016 silver medallists Germany are the other nations due to compete in the women's event.

Group A of the men's competition features Britain, who claimed bronze at the Paralympics in the Brazilian city, Sweden, Germany, Lithuania, Turkey and Israel.

Hosts Spain, who lost out to the United States in the final at Rio 2016, are likely to be the team to beat in Group B, which also includes Switzerland, The Netherlands, Poland, Italy and France.

Spain open up their campaign against Switzerland on the first day of the event.

Pabellón Las Torres and the Pabellón Polideportivo Municipal de Adeje are due to be the two competition venues for the tournament.

Britain are the defending champions in the men's tournament having topped the podium on home soil in Worcester last year.

Germany outfought The Netherlands to win the women's competition and they will be hoping to secure their second straight title in Tenerife.
