Great Britain clinched the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) World Men's Under-23 Championships title in Toronto.

The British team secured the title with a confident 54-43 victory over Turkey in the gold medal match at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. 

Australia won the bronze medal match after they came from behind to overcome Japan 71-66 in the Canadian city.

Trailing 40-26 at half time, Australia levelled the match before the start of the fourth quarter at 51-51.

They then proved too strong in the closing stages and went on to win their second consecutive bronze medal.

Yesterday's action saw a host of classification matches take place.

Germany would emerge as 76-68 winners in the fifth-place final, with hosts Canada having to settle for sixth.

France sealed seventh position at the Championships, as they beat Iran 76-63.

The United States ended the competition in ninth place, beating Italy 65-48 in their classification match.
