The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong has recognised the achievements of its athletes from last year ©SF&OC

The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (SF&OC) has recognised the achievements of its athletes at multi-sport Games and world and Asian Championships held last year by providing cash rewards from its savings to Member Associations.  

The presentation ceremony was made at the SF&OC Incentive Awards and Junior Incentive Awards 2016, which were held at Olympic House.

SF&OC President Timothy Fok and Karl Kwok, chairman of the Membership Affairs Committee, officiated at the Ceremony.

Lam Tai Fai, chairman of the Hong Kong Sports Institute presented the awards.

For this edition of the annual awards, a total sum of HK$2,003,454 (£201,643/$256,983/€229,549), including HK$1,355,064 (£136,387/$173,804/€155,248) for Incentive Awards and HK$648,390 (£65,260/$83,160/€74,281) for Junior Incentive Awards, was granted to 41 Member Associations.

Recipients of the maximum award amount of HK$100,000 (£10,100/$12,800/€11,500) under Incentive Awards 2016, included the Cycling Association of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Wushu Union, the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association and the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong.

The University Sports Federation of Hong Kong was one of three first-time awardees along with the Orienteering Association of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Kart Club.

Receiving the maximum award amount of HK$60,000 (£6,000/$7,700/€6,900) under the Junior Incentive Awards 2016 were the Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China, the Hong Kong Wushu Union, the Hong Kong Fencing Association and the Orienteering Association of Hong Kong, a first-time awardee.
